.bzh isnโt geographical, itโs intended for speakers of those languages. Iโm not sure if I remember hearing about a gTLD intended for language-speakers, but why not? Theyโre not ccTLDs. :)

Edit: Fix your link.
Link continues to work here. Title is โCan They Name 5 Countries in Africaโ by @MaximBady. No clue if thatโs the original or a repost, just the copy of the video I found when I went looking. Sorry itโs not working for you.
But also, quite agreed on your first para

Yeah, but why the fish and the banana? You have to explain that in more detail, my man.

hahaha. Thanks for the cool sunglasses, too. :)

You gave me sunglasses! I look way cooler now than I do IRL. :D

Ah, good. I was too lazy to look it up to get it right and wasnโt totally trying to quote it directly, but yay, glad it was got. hehe

Apologies mean โI made a mistake and I learned from it so it wonโt repeat.โ
At best it might not make the same mistake again if that memory is in the current context. But more likely: It will not remember.
Although latest Gemini in particular has much more room for โrememberingโ things, still.
But โI made a mistakeโ? It is not self-aware in any way shape or form to the degree where โI made a mistakeโ carries any real meaning.

or at my house,

First of all, relevant username. Second of allโฆ to quote a litle youtube vid I love[1], โYou are not wrong. But also, you are very wrong.โ
Education is one of the critical tools to fix this, although that will take 2-3 gererations of hard work and full control of the process, so probably even longer.
Education, however, is not the short-term tool, it is one of the long-term tools. But it is one of the tools. More of a preventative of it taking root again after we root it out.

how youโre going to get them better wages, better education, better infrastructure, better healthcare, etc.
Doesnโt work when all most of them want is for the people in charge to hurt the โrightโ people.

Fascism is not the result of some nebulous, nationwide hoodwink,
Iโm a progressive. I see all those issues and my response is to vote as progressively as I can.
Why is it that viewers of Fox โNewsโ and consumers of right-wing radio, who all preach some nevulous, nationwide hoodwink to the point that a third of our country is living in a parallel universe - why is it the issues that drive them to be insane and embrace fascism?
I think your premise is wildly off-base.
That said, I agree with your last para - except when things go bad enough the fascists start to doubt, thatโs when you have a chance to try and engage and convert a few out of the cult.

Just fucking vote.
You are correct.
However, this doesnโt work so well if certain groups of people are disenfranchised at a higher rate. It doesnโt work if ballots are stolen and manipulated. It doesnโt work if judges stop counts or recounts of votes. It doesnโt work if there are fewer polling stations or drop boxes in certain areas. It doesnโt work with gerrymandering. It certainly doesnโt work with propaganda that encourages voter apathy.

This would significantly reduce the scope for concerted disinformation
You donโt think if Lemmy became large enough to be a target that it wouldnโt be targeted with overwhelming bots and paid people posting propaganda?
Iโd like to borrow your rose-coloured glasses, please. Itโd be nice to have such a rosy worldview for a moment.

Although at the same time, enshrined in there is the idea that some are worth about 60% as much as others.
Not to defend the racist fascists, mind.

Worse, in the examples they give, the legislatures and/or judiciaries stood against the dictators.
Here, we have decades of propaganda fueled by the oligarchs that has removed the world view of a third of our population from reality, and itโs not just Trump - the Republican party is in on the deal, from Congress to SCOTUS.
Itโs not the same battle. Itโs not the same order of magnitude. Itโs at least two orders of magnitude harder.
Iโm not saying we shouldnโt fight; rather, we should fight all the harder.
But thatโs why Iโm not certain partition / civil war type solutions are off the table.

I found the plot very hard to follow and uninteresting. No character development at all.

But why the crab cakes? The rest of it makes sense, butโฆ what?
