Yes. You’re giving the companies WAY too much credit for owning the blender they throw stolen content into, and you’re even trying to give them ownership of what clearly doesn’t belong to them. I’m sure they’re just as eager to claim they did all the work and license the materials they use as you are.

I try not to call people idiots in debates, so there’s really only one reason you’d be giving them so much support.

The AI company stole other people’s code, threw it into a blender, and is selling the output. They didn’t do any real work, and they don’t own the materials. They have no legal claim over the result. You do not own a car you made from stolen parts, no matter how many cars you stole from.

Stop trying to imply your buddies at AI companies have value.

  • Considering Biden is neither a con man, a pedophile, nor the president (anymore), and you had to stretch definitions to make fascist fit when I specificly said Nazi, there really isn’t bipartisan crossover. To me, it sounds more like you saw criticism of Trump, and your natural instinct was to defend the man by deflecting to his opponents.

A Trump defender on a first name basis… Do you want to be Trump’s friend? Cause it looks like you do.

  • To me, the ideal is as little as is necessary. If there’s an NPC, they have a name, face, personality and motivation, maybe a generic stat block. If there’s a foreign nation, then it has a name and a two line description at MOST. And if there’s something I find a need that I don’t have, I stall for time until I can fill the gap in properly.

But then, that’s just the ideal. I also go a bit nuts with it if left unattended too long.

  • I did a book collection run once. Collect as many unique books as possible in a single run. I got about 94% of the books in the game, which is as many as I think you can get in a single run. The remaining 6% is locked behind story branches that would eat into the 94% I did get.

And honestly? It wasn’t that fun. I had to scour rooftops, look around in vases, cross-reference the wiki, reload the game because I made a wrong choice that seemed like a nothing choice at the time… And all I got were some notes. And they weren’t even much better than the ones you get in a normal run.

And this was just books. I had to skip Gale’s content entirely just to collect an extra note. There is a robe you can only get if you kill Karlach. There’s simply too many branches for you to get everything.

You can’t get 100%. You might be able to get 95%, but it won’t be fun. From now on, I’ll just clear the map markers before moving on, and that’ll be enough for me.

For me, the story and characters are the fun bit, and I stick to the mechanics as they already exist for the most part. But the names… I struggle naming one character. Naming large numbers of characters in a way that feels cohesive is hell.
