TWOTH
TWOTH is a musician and design director whose work bridges sound and design with a unique, interdisciplinary perspective. From high fashion and street culture to NHK educational programs, he explores new musical experiences across a wide range of creative fields.
He became the first Japanese artist to win the Best Music Award at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, and has since contributed sound design for SONY’s toio, music direction for NHK’s Otoppe, and received top honors for his work on Google’s AR & VR projects. His work is acclaimed both in Japan and internationally.
From crafting sonic experiences for sacred spaces like the former Motoise Kono Jinja in ALTERNATIVE KYOTO to composing music for the ISSEY MIYAKE Paris Collection, TWOTH continues to challenge boundaries through innovative and immersive approaches.
Rooted in the primal elements of music—listening, resonance, and percussion—TWOTH’s sound seeks new sensorial connections between body and environment. Blending physicality with spatial awareness and incorporating rhythms that resonate with the club floor, he creates immersive sonic experiences that transcend conventional musical frameworks.
BERVATRA
Shinichi Suda and Kosaku Shimamoto have formed a unit active since 2010, utilizing unconventional microphones for live performances, such as condenser mics, binaural mics, and shotgun mics, to record ambient sounds. From these sounds, they construct rhythm patterns, add effects, and create music in a semi-improvisational manner. Their concept is “dance music of actions and object sounds.
