WebAssemblyにコンパイルすることで、サブセットや互換性が十分でない代替品ではなく、フル機能のRubyがブラウザ上で動作することはコミュニティから驚きを持って迎えられました。RubyKaigi 2022ではキーノートスピーカーを努めました。
He was met with amazement from the community when he managed to run fully functioning Ruby on web browser instead of a subset or a substitute lacking full compatibility. He was also the keynote speaker for RubyKaigi 2022.

Rubyの開発を追いかけている人ならば byroot というハンドル名でのJeanの活躍を目にしているはずです。ドキュメントの改善から新規仕様の明確化、あるいはバグフィックスから新機能の実装まで、彼の活動は多岐にわたります。
Those who have been following the development of Ruby must have seen the activities of Jean under the username of ‘byroot’.He has been involved in a wide range of activities from the improvement of document, clarification of new specifications to bug fixes and implementation of new features.

WindowsでRubyを使う人なら必ずお世話になる RubyInstaller を長年メンテナンスしてきました。「Windowsに冷たい」と評価されることも多い(実際はWindowsだけOS仕様が違いすぎて実装難度が高い)Rubyですが、それでも初心者は Windows を使う傾向があります。彼らを見捨てない態度は尊敬に値します。
He has been maintaining the RubyInstaller, which any Ruby user on Windows has used, over a long period of time. Ruby as a language has been known to be “cold towards Windows” (the truth being that there are quite a lot of operating system specifications just for Windows making implementation of features a difficult task). However beginners still tend to use Windows and his attitude towards them in not leaving them behind merits respect.
