At Roots to Thrive (RTT), we believe in the power of experiential learning. Our 12-week Preceptor Training Program is designed for mental health clinicians and therapists with at least two years of mental health experience. This program offers a rare opportunity to co-facilitate and support psychedelic-assisted therapy within a supervised, community-based practice environment. With a unique blend of virtual and in-person sessions, this training equips you with the skills to facilitate group sessions while fostering holistic, trauma-informed care.
Program Overview
What You’ll Experience:
Asynchronous Study:
Gain access to video and written resources that outline the core principles of psychedelic-assisted therapy and the Roots to Thrive Community of Practice model to help prepare for your hands-on work.
Weekly Virtual Practice Sessions:
Participate in weekly virtual practice sessions, serving as a co-facilitator alongside seasoned RTT team members. You’ll be involved in facilitation, preparation, and integration for participants in therapy.
In-Person Gatherings in Nanaimo, BC:
Engage in three immersive, in-person gatherings where you’ll co-facilitate group psychedelic-assisted therapy sessions and participate in debriefs with the full RTT clinical team.
Experiential Learning:
As part of your training, you will:
- Support three medicine sessions as a co-facilitator.
- Participate in multiple integration and preparation sessions with your cohort.
- Attend weekly debriefs with the RTT Facilitator Team to reflect on the sessions and deepen your understanding.
