Aortic aneurysms and dissections are severe conditions of the aorta, often leading to uncontrolled bleeding, and they can be life-threatening. Aortic aneurysms are diagnosed when a section of the aorta has a diameter > 5.0 cm or twice the expected normal diameter. Aortic dissections are an intimal tear that creates a false lumen between the aorta’s layers, potentially causing such complications as malperfusion and rupture.

Can you properly identify and manage patients with an aortic aneurysm and dissection? Test your knowledge with this quick quiz.
