Voting different definitely would’ve helped for very little cost, but let’s remember that ICE has been around for a while and the Democratic party has long supported them too. I hope our ambitions don’t stop at merely going back to the old status quo, but we instead aim for, say, abolishing ICE altogether, or even abolishing the system that requires so many armed people to enforce things most of us don’t even want.

While this is definitely a positive, be aware that ICE is just the latest outgrowth of a fundamentally broken system where a small proportion of people control the rules by which we all operate and the violence that compels us to follow them. I hope people don’t stop at merely voting with ballots and wallets because history shows that doesn’t work for fundamental change, so I think we need more action like step 3 here.

My inability to make friends was because playing the part of a boy was so taxing and I couldn’t relate to other boys. Or even around people I felt more comfortable with I’d struggle to act as a boy and end up not socializing enough to build much friendship.
