it has always been practical. even before i started working as a software developer 25 years ago, i had made numerous games, programs and scripts for myself, family or friends. from simple backup scripts to reminder apps and interesting graphic hacks. it’s not that hard. most languages are very similar, so the most important bit is to choose the best language for the task, like i would choose Java for automatic layout management in the GUI, for example.

Im Winter leg’ ich manchmal ‘ne Konserve auf die Heizung und hol’ sie später ab. Das muss man dann halt schon im Voraus wissen, weil dauert lang.

Parmesan am Stück eingeschweißt hält längere Zeit (Monate) ohne Kühlschrank (auch wenn ca 15 Grad empfohlen) und kannst Du pur oder mit Brot essen, aber ist sehr intensiv und nicht billig.

Pumpernickel eingeschweißt hält auch viele Monate ungekühlt, aber sobald Du es aufmachst, muss es in wenigen Tagen weg.

Früchte, wie Tomaten oder Gurken, muss man nur kurz abwaschen. Es ist optional sie zu schnibbeln. Du kannst einfach reinbeißen und musst nur aufpassen, dass der Saft nicht rumspritzt. Problematisch ist nur die Lagerung. Sie müssen schnell weg und werden im Kühlschrank gern vergessen.

Fischkonserven gehen immer kalt, direkt aus der Dose, aber das ist nicht für jeden, wegen Gräten oder Überfischung (Thunfisch z.B. hat keine Gräten, aber wird besorgniserregend stark befischt).

Toast ist immer eine schnelle Beilage und wenn Du es sowieso toastest, kann es ins Gefrierfach und hält dann Jahre.
