It’s a budgeting app, it looks like. So this community is for people to find alternatives.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it possible that none of this is real?
13·4 days agoI’d assume drugs if I saw a guy staring at a vending machine for ages. That’s “took too much of something that doesn’t leave the system fast” behavior. Possibly he wanted to get something from the vending machine, but couldn’t hold on to the thought for long enough to go through the process. Perception of time gets fucked on those sorts of drugs, so he has no idea he’s been there for however long. The behavior sounds specifically like that of people I’ve known who accidently took a higher dose of edibles than intended.
The world is real but we perceive it with a brain that can read signals of it imperfectly if something goes wrong in there. That leads to strange behaviors like you described.

News@lemmy.world•Billionaire Les Wexner tells lawmakers he was 'naive' and 'conned' by Epstein
4·5 days agoWell, abusers also groom witnesses (like: “see? you were around me and i didn’t abuse you or your kids. those accusers must be lying, right? you’re such a good judge of character!”) but I really really doubt that’s the case with this specific dude.

2·10 days agoPeople talked about that a lot, didn’t they? I bet the Mariners are why I know Etsy witches exist.

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Etsy Witches Say Spell Casting Is No Longer Welcome on the Platform
20·10 days agoThe general public must have become too aware for Etsy to ignore them (and collect their fees) anymore.
I didn’t really know they existed on etsy before the last year or so. There were a few big incidents, weren’t there? Big names getting cursed, or something.
On Ebay I think people get away with the scam by also mailing a candle or something.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•HOW DO YOU KNOW WHERE AND WHICH COMMUNITY TO POST IN.....?????
3·16 days agoThere are a bunch of different kinds of places that all link together! Lemmy is a bit like reddit, Mastodon is like twitter, Mbin does the twitter and reddit thing mashed together, pixelfed is like instagram, friendica is like facebook- and so on.

Maybe this will help?

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What is up with the trend of naming pets after food?
7·16 days agoI think it’s an easy naming scheme when you have a litter of puppies to try and adopt out.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•HOW DO YOU KNOW WHERE AND WHICH COMMUNITY TO POST IN.....?????
6·16 days agoWhat are you interested in? I bet people can link you to some communities you might like, if you can’t find some just browsing.
Mastodon has microblogging, like twitter/x and bluesky, if you’re interested in that! Lemmy is more about finding communities on topics and posting in them.

“I was just laid off by The Washington Post in the middle of a warzone. I have no words. I’m devastated,” reporter Lizzie Johnson wrote on X.

Uplifting News@lemmy.world•Pakistan's famous kite festival cautiously returns after 19-year ban
23·16 days agoKite flying is not just about beauty, it’s about the battle to knock your opponent’s kite out of the sky by cutting their string.
That led to ever sharper, stronger threads, some coated in powdered glass, others made from metal or chemical material that would not break.
Each festival there were deaths, including of children. It was particularly dangerous for motorcyclists who could inadvertently drive into a thread draped across a road, cutting their throats.
Damn!!!
Hope the safety measures work because it must be really cool to see.

Ask Science@lemmy.world•I have heard this from multiple people even when I worked at a liquor store. That when you are on an upper or something that gives you speed that you cannot get drunk. Is this true? And how?
2·16 days agoThis made me remember hearing about an alcohol “antidote” years ago and trying to remember what it was or even where I heard about it. I don’t want to watch Revenge of the Nerds again but I think they used it in that movie to win a contest.

When looking it up I also saw this:

Don’t know enough to know if this newer treatment seems useful.

Health - Resources and discussion for everything health-related@lemmy.world•Been Cutting Tea Out of The Tea Bags, because of Microplastics in The Tea Bags, & Using Metal Tea Ball Soaking in Boiling Water, but Problem…
5·17 days agoDo you compost? That’s the first suggestion I’m finding, but I don’t garden so that wouldn’t be a useful suggestion for me.
If the boxes have been opened, I don’t know what org will take them, but if you have sealed containers, local food pantries will grab them. If there’s a local buy nothing group, you might find takers even with open boxes. If you work in an office or group setting, you could give it away. If there’s a local group like a church that has meetings with tea or coffee, you could possibly be like “i have a million boxes of stuff I’m not using” but they might be like other orgs and not want to take open boxes.
Some towns will have special recycling times for stuff like that. Biowaste, I think it’s called?

10·17 days agoI think you should start getting looseleaf tea once you’re done with the bags, or just give up on the bags entirely.

It’s “キュント” so it’s pronounced so different than it reads in English. The letters are cute and fancy and round, though!
