Thankyou. Though I do not understand most of what you’ve written. I am very much at the must-be-handheld-through-most-things stage of the Linux journey. Flathub has been a god-send for this very reason.

I’ve just started using Bazzite myself. Years ago I used Ubuntu but have been stuck with windows for quite some time. After a few teething problems it’s starting to look very positive. Am especially grateful for the “ujust” command that someone showed me just now. Will definitely stick with it for at least 2026 as you said.

I did get a response from Microids. However, it seems like a stock response. The usual “Make sure you’ve solved all the puzzles… Follow a walkthrough… Never quit while game is saving…”
In short, less than helpful. *shrugs in person-who-has-been-gaming-for-decades"

Already tried.

Thanks. I’ve just sent them a message about what’s happened. Maybe I have the dubious honour of being the first to encounter this particular bug 😕

I’m hearing that the game is currently much more stable on Linux, for some reason. Haven’t had a chance to test it myself.

If a base hasn’t had interaction from its builder in a certain amount of time send that player a warning that it’s about to be marked as fair game. A few days later, if no action has been taken, mark it as abandoned and free to loot. Possibly with quests to access this looting feature. A Scavengers’ Guild?

Is it just visual for the player, or does it cause NPCs to see you?

The Starlight spell (school of Illusion) casts but does nothing. If you look directly down it suddenly starts working.

The Unofficial ES wiki mentions some of the newly introduced bugs. https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Remastered_Changes
Got the bug again even with the dynamic range change. Maybe not as often. Sometimes the audio sounds muffled just before it happens.
Am on console, so sadly no delving into the game’s installation folder for me.

Someone over on Mastodon pointed me at an alternative search engine/aggregator. Thoughts? https://searxng.world/

The search engine DuckDuckGo appears to be experiencing problems today (Thur 23 May 2024).
After much bumping my head against a wall I found the Web Apps program in the Application Launcher (where the Start button is in Windows) > Internet > Web Apps. This let me do the Progressive Web Apps thing you spoke of.
Ooft! This is going to be a long journey for me, eh? XD
