Same. I fantasize about dark shit on a daily basis.
That was the first thing I noticed too.

The stuff I read about the play testing indicated it was PVE. I didn’t do enough research before purchasing, no argument there. I happen to actually enjoy fighting the arc, and I really enjoy when I can play co-operatively, and do things like save someone that’s pinned down by ARC, or help others down bastions, bombadiers, and matriarchs. Getting shot in the back after I’m soloing arc and my shield is down isn’t fun. Getting shot even after I say I’m friendly, and I can’t defend myself, or else trigger the algorithm to put me in more pvp matchups isn’t fun. If it was already tested as a PvE game, I don’t see why they can’t give us PVE and PVP lobbies. Letting players decide if they want to risk PVP or not.

As a late gen x/early millenial, I was told to get a college degree in STEM. I did that, and got an MS and PhD. I finished my doctorate in 2008 just in time for the housing market to crash and forced austerity via republican wars and george bush. I spent 3 years in a postdoctoral fellowship, effectively making $10 hourly based on hours I worked VS salary. After my fellowship, in 2011, I could NOT find a job in my field, because there were no jobs. I gave up and leveraged my education into a different field.
I ended up working for the state, in a position that has nothing to do with my education, and only requires a high school diploma. I make $30 an hour now. 13 years after I finished my fellowship and gave up, I started having STEM companies cold calling me to offer me positions because they saved my resume. Best part was being offered $30 hourly, which is what I already make in a position that doesn’t require post secondary education. Telling them not to bother me unless they were prepared to offer me $60 hourly felt fucking amazing.
The point to my rambling is that whatever is “in demand” could change at a moments notice for any reason. If you’re going to spend 4-10 years of your life learning a particular skill set in a particular field of study, you should at least enjoy yourself and feel enthusiastic about what you are studying.
I’m not a Canadian, but if I came across Doug Ford slowly dying on the street, I’d step the fuck over his body and keep walking.

For me, it wasn’t about the AI. It’s that early development of the game was all PvE play. PVP was something that was added at launch, and the game is tagged as PvE, along with PvP on steam. Stupid me thought there would be PvE only lobbies and I was clearly mistaken. I tried playing it, I put 100 hours in. The entire game was me grinding the easy map, to level up and craft/buy better guns, only to be shot on sight by someone and have everything I worked for taken. I would solo down bastions, leapers, and bombdiers to have someone run up and shoot me on site, without asking if I would share loot. (I would rather share than lose everything.) Events in the game also reward PvP play by awarding cred. People are making smurf accounts so they can end up in friendly matches to dominate people that don’t want to pvp. Enemy spawns are fucked up too. I’ve downed arc only for the corpses to despawn as I attempt to loot it. I’ve walked into clear areas, only to have bombadiers spawn on top of me out of nowhere. The worst part of the game is being dropped into a map/match after 10 minutes has elapsed, which means anything decent has already been looted and you’re more likely to run into people camping extraction points. They have a temp event running that rewards PvE cooperative play, and I’ve still gotten killed on site, although less frequently. After the event is over, I’ll probably uninstall the game again.

You are correct, they are. Wet beans saves me time from having to soak them. Lentils are they only ones I buy dry because they cook fast without soaking.

Protein, plus fiber, plus complex carbohydrates. What’s not to love? Plus it makes a smaller environmental impact compared to farming poultry or larger animals. It was mind blowing to hear rags like the WSJ demonize the younger generation for eating avocado toast; it’s a fucking cheap meal. Avocados were like $1 a pop and are a good source of fiber and health fat. I can’t wait for rags like the WSJ to start publishing articles like, “How dare the poors waste money on eating!”

I make black bean based veggie patties; not because I’m a vegetarian, but because a can of black beans is cheap. I call them struggle burgers. I can’t wait to be demonized for buying fucking beans. Fuck this timeline.

For a second I thought this occurred in America; seems like an every day event here. Dang Canada, are you ok?

Refusing to release titles to the PC isn’t going to make me run out and purchase a console. There are tons of games on PC. My backlog is long enough that I can live happily without whatever kind of bullshit Nintendo, Sony, and Xbox are trying to peddle. Assuming I did care about a specific title, and it’s being gate locked by console exclusivity, I’ll fucking pirate it. Sony, Microslop, and Nintendo can all get fucked.
