It’s better thought of as a tax that funds the BBC, but it can’t be called a tax because it’s not run by the government.
It’s an outdated idea though that doesn’t make any sense in this era because it means that technically if you want to watch any live TV at all then you have to pay the BBC money even if you don’t watch anything by them.
Or you could just not answer the door in the extremely rare case that any enforcement officers actually come around and instead watch TV for free.

There are a few countries that aren’t exactly friendly with the Western world and know our democratic systems have a weakness in that you can rile people up and get them to vote against their own best interests, damaging their own country.
The internet and social media in particular are valuable tools for this strategy, so it would be insane for them not to use it to its full potential. And that means endless bots manipulating the narrative.
Weird how I always leave that voodoo boys “marine le Penn” or whatever it’s called mission until really late because I find it a bit tedious but the accelerated start would take place after that.
Possibly not. Cyberpunk is a gorgeous game and I really enjoyed the story and the power trip you get from all the crazy cybernetics that you can unlock. Awesome soundtrack too. However the core gameplay loop does get a bit stale, especially if you’re going for 100% completion.
It’s definitely a lot of fun and one of my favourite games of the past few years, because despite its flaws you can tell a lot of time and love went into this game, however I wouldn’t call it an all time great.

Burnout Revenge was the ultimate party game. Anyone could jump right in and cause chaos without needing to be an experienced gamer. The soundtrack was colossal too.

The main reason why I got one was because my PS4 was on its last legs after the hammering it got during 8 months of covid lockdown and furlough, and the whole console was cheaper than a new graphics card for my PC (+the other upgrades it needed to accommodate it).
The new controller is epic and that astrobot demo game really showcased its capabilities, but no other games have used it, even other exclusives like god of war. Wasted opportunity.
And honestly us Brits are pretty fucking lazy when it comes to walking compared to a lot of Europe too
Something I noticed when visiting the US. I went to one of their Wendy’s to try it out, and ordered a small chicken burger. It was very dry and bland, not really that good, yet I looked up the nutritional info and apparently this small burger alone was over 1200kcals??
I’m fairly sure it was the bun that did that as I doubt they raise some kind of super chicken with an energy density similar to petrol.
Anyway, surprise surprise I ended up with heartburn afterwards.
Edit: people always talk about the percentage of people who are obese in these discussions, but have you noticed just how big obese people can get in the states?
Genuinely, almost every day I was there I caught myself accidentally stopping and staring because I’d just seen someone fatter than I thought humanly possible. Like so big that I couldn’t understand how their flesh didn’t just tear and fall off their skeleton.
There have been plenty of legal Palestine protests in the UK. The illegal part is supporting Palestine Action, which is a terror group that has attacked this country’s defences and also beat someone half to death with a sledgehammer.
Social media is doing serious damage to people’s mental health, especially the non-anonymous ones. It’s a good thing that it’s being clamped down on.
There’s a study being commissioned in the UK on why there are record numbers of young people that are NEETS, and why there is a mental health crisis. I’ll bet that social media is found to be a major factor.
