web pages used to sort of operate that way with the ‘Temporary Internet Files’ folder. i’m not sure how it’s changed i just know this was how i used to circumvent websites that disabled right-clicking to save their images.

The cable is the first thing to go for me, but i find that to be a repairable issue. Unlike those damn dongles on the wireless ones.
I used to do that. I’d turn the water heater all the way up and then start a shower as hot as it will go while leaving the fan off. -I had to eventually clean the ceiling of the bathroom with bleach-water to remove the water spots, though

i have an actively hostile relationship with ads but i don’t see a reason to try and justify it. Ads are bad. -pretty simple.

Yep. The only time it ever feels like a legit issue is while driving, but nobody is supposed to be on their phone while driving in the first place, biometrics or not. It takes almost no time to pull over if absolutely necessary.

Good question. In the U.S. It violates your fifth amendment right not to testify against yourself/self-incriminate… unless a person doesn’t know that and voluntarily unlocks it.

over the years i’ve had trouble with the various app stores like Discover and Pop!_Shop which for me led to the use of the terminal. other than that there is the occasional permissions issue that may have a graphical solution but i’ve always used chown on the command line.
a lot of things you saw as cons of living through the 2000’s I saw as Pros that I still long for.
Personally I suspect the 30’s sucked. I imagine the 1860-1900’s did too with the U.S. industrial revolution & gilded age being considered a bad thing for people that weren’t mega-wealthy.(kinda like the direction we’re headed)

wdym? facebook automatically showed us it used facial recognition at least as far back as 2007 by asking us to click boxes on faces and subsequently asking us to label them… We really did all of the heavy lifting for them. -I got out while i could in ~2018
it did not take long for the Brave browser to go from hero to villain-status.
Whatsapp is the one i still feel pressure to almost use even though i deleted fb over 5 years ago. Whenever somebody travels out of country I get an invite to whatsapp that I turn down.

I had a fair amount of issues back in the day due to debian having limited support for newer hardware with proprietary drivers. I wouldnt be surprised if that still a thing given Debian’s modus operandi.

Display Port would be better suited to do all of those things.
hey, Leisure Suit Larry had a really tough 3-part questionaire to seperate adults from minors.
