My wife has a big family and her mother is an angel but crazy. The first 8 years we were together I found it really tough because they were always there. Then after doing some soul searching I came to understand that’s just the way it is. I am routinely in peace in total chaos.

World News@lemmy.ml•The First Images of Titan Submersible being brought ashoreEnglish
9·3 年前Interesting - I had imagined it being imploded into bits like the simulations on the news show.

World News@lemmy.ml•Submarine missing near Titanic used a $30 Logitech gamepad for steering
1·3 年前I couldn’t imagine being in a cramped space 2.5 miles under the sea with 4 other people waiting for that time. Horrific comes to mind but I don’t think there is an adequate word for it.
Am I the only one who’s bookmarks are a hot mess?
@dontblameme to each their own. Respectfully
I’m an Android user. It’s damn near impossible to get around Google. So many good features that they offer that I’ve been sucked it. Call me a sellout if you want. Tell me that I’m the product. I’ve got things to do and people to see so I had to shelve my paranoias. I even bought a syno 920+ to curtail their call but find myself still using them - and they use me.
My beautiful wife is not into sci-fi but I will try to sneak it in
I watched a b-movie documentation kind of about him recently. Wasn’t the best but learned some things that it didn’t know.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•for the Reddit refugees, do you also feel a bit heartbroken?
11·3 年前Um. Yeah. Taking a break from it for a few days during the blackout. Checking out the fediverse and am loving lemmy, pixelfed, and mastodon. Just joined kbin today but am a bit confused about it because I haven’t found a mobile app that supports it. There are a ton of subreddits that I am missing incredibly, but you know it’ll be all right. I’m hoping lemmy grows a bit, but not too big. I just enjoy a string of random posts.
I’ve been a Plex user for the past 6 years. I’m fairly happy with it, but have always been interested in Jellyfin. From posts I’ve read in the past, people say it’s not as polished as plex. I dl’d and installed jellyfin to my nas yesterday, but haven’t had a chance to play around with it. I do have a small-mediumish music library that in the past i’ve tried several methods (plex, google music [at the time], synology DS Audio] of using the random generator to listen to my music library - with i’m sad to report i found repetative. Just curious about others insights to Jellyfin and how it’s worked for them.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Reddit CEO (/u/spez) is going to hold a AMA about the API update
12·3 年前I always felt that part of the allure of Reddit was that it was semi-anonymous. Now that I see they’re taking the route of Facebook and the like I’m running for the door.
Fuel for the fire? Or a bunch of smoke? I’ll believe this is the clincher when he’s behind bars.
Ok, in the jerboa app

1·3 年前Except we need rain! But yeah - no smog/smoke that i can see. although i wonder if yesterday’s cloud cover had something to do with the wildfires.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Windows 11's latest endearing mess contains rigorously enforced Britishisms
1·3 年前I don’t know. The GUI is prettier. Notepad & File Explorer have tabs now. What got me is that a few years ago I had to edit a spreadsheet that had over 12,000 columns and at the time Libre Office couldn’t do it. So I bought a seat of 365 and now I’m here. I do miss Ubuntu though. The other thing is that my day job uses windows exclusively and I felt that since I was using ubuntu at home for 12+ years I needed to brush up on my windowsisms.
Infinity has been my go-to. Spending much less time on it though.

The Exorcist and The Omen. I cannot watch either again to this day.
