In all cases, be the kind of weird you want to see in the world, and you will attract like-minded people. Mind community guidelines. In general, try anywhere artists congregate.

The very best place to meet weird people is out in the world. Talk to people at the bus stop and eventually someone will talk back.

I keep my bank transactions to a bare minimum. They charge me to hold my money so they can invest it and make themselves interest, and they charge me to remove my money. Only rich people get those fees waived. And I am way less likely to go below my balance an incur other surprise fees. Credit card is the only way. Or cash, but that requires making large withdrawals once or twice a month and carrying it around.

I haven’t been digging through these documents. Could be others which are related. This is the one that’s being circulated in my bubble. It isn’t clear if this person is claiming she was also present for the infanticide but at the very least she is is saying she gave birth then the baby was no more so (if the story is real) something bad must have happened because a private citizen cannot just remove a child from its parent’s care.

The tax on non Muslims (jizyah) was in a way beneficial to creating a heterogenous environment. Anybody who tried to expel members of different faiths suffered an immediate loss of income and soon saw the err of their ways. And the more prosperous non-muslims are, the more tax they can pay, so it also gives a reason to take special care of them and help them to prosper.

I don’t think it was really such a big deal back then beyond your kind of baseline drama and conflict humans always get up to. But not much special aminosity between these two groups.
