As a thought, HamAlert has the ability to send alerts to a URL and Mastodon has web hooks so theoretically it should be possible to post from HamAlert to Mastodon.

In 2018 Wisconsin passed a new free speech on campus law to be better able to punish people who protested conservative speakers. This chancellor brought an adult film actress to campus as a speaker. He was admonished for it by the system president and had a pay increase withheld. So the “free speech” people responded exactly how you might expect.
