This is a Lemmy account to accompany my Mastodon one: @[email protected]

I have spun up an instance and made use of the csv import. So far my main complaints are the lack of bulk image uploads (that I’ve found) and a seeming inability to generally browse items (except by location).
The label system is quite useful, although I do wish there could be tiers of labels, or maybe category options that function similarly to labels but in a different part of the UI.
Thank you again for the suggestion; I’ll continue playing around with it while I look into others suggestions.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will look into it. It seems like I will need more than a brief glance at the readme to figure out how it works, but it seems like installation is relatively simple.

It looks like that would work as an essentially 1-to-1 replacement, especially since I would never need the full GB that instance offers. I could even self-host it, although without an existing proxy config that would likely be a bit too much for me at this point. Thank you for the suggestion.
Edit: Not quite 1-to-1: similar to HomeBox, it does not support linking images, just uploading image files. This isn’t a deal breaker, though.

That may work quite well, and my reverse proxy already has an example config for it. I’ll look into it some more. Thank you.

Wow I didn’t even know you had posted the same kit a few hours before I did. Your pose is even cooler!

Yet again not sure if my reply went through from Mastodon, so here’s the quoted reply:
@[email protected] Looking for anything that isn’t just the top 5 of the year is honestly pretty hard. Here are a few High Grade red releases of varying price and availability from the last couple years:

If you have patience and are willing to pivot, you can do a (good) RG kit as your first. You’re more likely to finish a kit you like either way.

Looks like there was about an hour delay, at least for it to be publicly visible. Not sure when you got the notification, but I originally responded with my Mastodon account within 5 minutes of receiving your comment.

The bridge may be acting up, so here’s my quoted reply:
@[email protected] No paint except panel lining. For the top coat I used two airbrushed coats of Vallejo Matt Varnish.

Not sure if the bridge is working, so here’s my quoted comment:
@[email protected] Yeah I lost one of those very small pieces for a few hours. Fantastic kit. I would have been ecstatic to find one for 30% off; it’s one of the first kits I put on my “wishlist”.
In addition to the very small pieces advice, I would also recommend putting decals and stickers on the wings even if one did not intend to put them anywhere else. They can look kinda boring without the color variation.

The silver one worked so well on the pistons, but any large flat surfaces or textured surfaces were a challenge. I had to try 3 times to get the spots on the waist armor somewhat decent looking. Almost gave up and used Vallejo Scarlet instead (I only have 6 colors of Mr Hobby available to me, and Shine Red isn’t one of them).

Since the fediverse bridge wasn’t behaving, I made a Lemmy account. Here’s Part One
Ultimately it all came from here: https://www.multiboard.io/parts-library
Some specific ones I used include:
Tiles (20 6x6): https://thangs.com/search/"Multiboard1" creator%3A"Keep Making"?scope=thangs&view=list
Offset snaps (I used 8mm, which is deprecated): A - https://thangs.com/search/"MB18" creator%3A"Keep Making"?scope=thangs&view=list B - https://thangs.com/designer/Multiboard/3d-model/Snap (DS Part B)-1323061
Hooks: https://thangs.com/search/"MB180" creator%3A"Keep Making"?scope=thangs&view=list
Pegs: https://thangs.com/search/"MB182" creator%3A"Keep Making"?scope=thangs&view=list
Locking bolt: https://thangs.com/designer/Multiboard/3d-model/Locking T-Bolt-1310062
Snaps: https://thangs.com/designer/Multiboard/3d-model/Moderate Weight-Bearing Snap-1311034
Wherever you want to use the mounting offset snaps, you’d use a friction fit.
Hm, gonna be a two parter.
