There are some proposed solutions in this article: https://popcar.bearblog.dev/lemmy-needs-to-fix-its-community-separation-problem/

@tombruzzo @linux_gaming In particular when trying to run games in Japanese I’ve had to manually download windows fonts and place them in the right location for text to display properly.
Here’s the guide I used to fix this: https://learnjapanese.moe/vn-linux/#fonts-do-not-look-right

@SK53 @openstreetmap I am probably underestimating the effort of keeping the map up to date!

Great info, thank you!
Intuitively, if small flowers are mapped with images it seems easy enough to fix when changes are made.
But I’m still quite far from that point, so let’s what I think when I get there haha

@MangoPenguin @pietervdvn You’re exactly the kind of person who can make a difference by adding this data!
I’ve found it a lot easier to map for my own dietary needs/preferences.
Just try to open up mapcomplete next time when you’re in a restaurant and answer a few questions, it’s really worth it!

@yo_scottie_oh you’re right, thank you so much!
There’s also this OSM wiki entry that I wasn’t able to find before: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:natural=plant
@DonnerWolfBach There were some experiements by @ian and @zverik with extracting osm tags from pictures using gpt-4o-mini in everydoor: https://en.osm.town/@everydoor/113192204761150958
The model is pretty out of date these days, so I imagine there’s room for improvement!
