1·4 days agoLooks great! How does Fedora Silverblue do with hardware with such low specs? Been trying to find a good replacement OS for a machine around that age and was considering going with FSB but was worried it would be too heavy on the system.
Leave him be he’s armless
Love the classic XFCE look! Is Salix similiar to slackware or some sort of derivative?

62·1 month agoI used MX for a bit. Its actually pretty solid and I liked their Fluxbox setup. Very similar to Mint as it provides quite a solid suite of tried and tested tools and is fairly easy to get started with if you have basic computer experience. It also has non-systemd options for those who are into that. Quite a few reasons for folks to check it out so I am not shocked its towards the top of the list.
Looks adorable! Love the bird and the pattern on the teacup!

Linux Gaming@lemmy.ml•Anyone tried POP!_OS's new cosmic for gaming?English
4·1 month agoTried it awhile back. I primarily use either Gnome or MATE but I found Cosmic to be a solid setup as well. Worked well for all my games though I primarily play strategy titles (CK3, Vic3, EU5) so my experience is limited to those. The only thing that stuck out to me is that as far as I can tell Cosmic doesn’t have hdr support (been a minute since I last tried it so this may no longer be true).

Thanks for the recommendation! Definitely going to have to give the XFCE or LXQt atomic desktops a try!
