I disagree, these are TV’s death throes, a final delirious thrashing of feature creep to ward off the inevitable disappearance from people’s homes. How many young people do you know who watch TV on the regular, or even own a TV?

What’s crazy, from a European point of view, is that they act as if Democrats are a bunch of leftists who would redistribute their hard-earned money, when they would be considered economically right-wing here in Europe. The disconnect is insane “I’ve got mine, so I’m just going to ignore all the GOP reactionary bullshit, 'cause, you know, capitalism and small government and America fuck yeah.”

World News@lemmy.world•Niger coup: Is France to blame for instability in West Africa?English
2·2 years agoThis is truly some cheap geopolitical analysis, the article attempts to redeem itself towards the but, Jesus, talk about clickbait. They’re literally reducing half of a continent to a monolith, disregarding the specific reality and conditions of the individual countries. Africa is indeed a country for the BBC, it appears.
The lost syllables at the end of spoken French would like to have a word… Ideally a complete finished one, but we know that’s not possible

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are your stories of moderator overreach on Lemmy?English
201·2 years agoIs there any incentive other than showing who’s boss on the internet? I struggle to see how the amount of time and energy involved in moderating just one community, let alone multiple ones, are worth it just to get a power high. It seems exhausting.
This is now my favourite comment on Lemmy
If they were really applying critical thinking to bullshit, mainstream media wouldn’t be forced to literally put together entire departments dedicated to fighting fake news.
