Google Pixel@lemmy.world•Pixel 4a (not 5G) owners, what do you plan to do with your phone now that it reached its final Android update?English
5·2 years ago😎 - agreed from my Pixel 3 XL

3·2 years agoIf it only happens under load, that would make me suspect the motor driver. It sounds like the circuitry isn’t able to handle much current anymore, which would cause it to basically lock itself out for safety, until it’s power cycled. Most likely such a scenario isn’t communicated to the display.

3·2 years agoI’m definitely no expert but I’ve owned a mid drive for a few years. It could possibly be the nylon gears transferring power from the motor to the bike’s gears- that happened to me early on. I’d go full throttle from a dead stop and eventually the gears sheared and binded.
Otherwise, depending on the actual sound it could be the driver fets or the motor itself. Can you post a short video or audio clip of it happening? Also does it only happen under load or can you trigger it with the back wheel off the ground?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Android users who don't use the stock launcher - what launcher do you use, and what do you like about it?
4·2 years agoNova was my jam for the longest time, then CPL (Customised Pixel Launcher) due to its google feed integration & good customisation. Now that I’ve stopped using the google feed (I get my news from
redditlemmy) as well as it isn’t actively maintained anymore, I’ve switched to Neo launcher as it’s FOSS as well as having a very light footprint and specific features such as categories in the app draw.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How many Lemmy users are non-technical background?
3·3 years agoAs an IT support officer, I (and my colleagues) deeply appreciate that you attempt to solve problems before calling us. There’s never ever any judgement if you do that and then need to call us. We’re here to help, but trying to help yourself first makes our job infinitely easier, not to mention you reaffirm your troubleshooting skills!
If you’ve genuinely tried to solve the problem but couldn’t, and the problem turns out to be that the machine wasn’t plugged in, I’m 100% not going to think less of you for it. You know many things I don’t, and visa versa.
I liken it to returning your shopping cart to the bay. You don’t have to, but you’re making someone’s day easier ❤️
Aren’t some animals the most amazing souls? Especially dogs, not sure we deserve them…
Thank you! They really have softened my cold dead heart. I’m sure your Shiba inu have also opened your mind to care for such beings too ❤️
Thank you ❤️
Also posting from Jerboa. Good to know! Also gorgeous kitty :3
I don’t know a whole bunch on the matter but it could be that the actual IC is damaged. As in, the mechanical components of it are broken or in a state that the IC can’t compensate for. Not sure what you can do other than replace the component…

2·3 years agoExactly. The way Android manages RAM is not the same as Windows, ie. full memory utilisation ≠ out-of-memory scenario.
Bloody hell, yeah that’s pretty shit.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why would someone want to be the mod of a community?
2·3 years agoThat’s exactly what I was going to say. If someone loves their community enough, and has the time and willingness to do so, moderating an online community can be an extremely helpful contribution!

Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•What do we do with existing cars?English
2·3 years agoI’d turn the alternators into electric motors. Seats would make good desk chairs! Obviously stereo parts could be used for home audio stuff.
They be like “I’m so sorry o.O”

Technology@beehaw.org•What do you think of foldable phones?English
1·3 years agoRolling screens seems like the more practical idea, if they can become affordable and practical (practical as in similar build quality to existing standard screens)

I can’t bee-lieve this happened!
