This is called Nordic layout. I believe it’s demographic is Norway, Denmark, and Sweden (maybe Finland also).

2·7 months agoThat’d be the browser’s (or whatever app you’re using) fault, not the format. I guess you could choose to hate it for poor support.

Nintendo@lemmy.world•Nintendo pushes back live-action Zelda movie to May 2027English
4·7 months agoI feel like the title says it all. The Legend of Zelda. It’s like multiple retellings of the same story, passed down through generations, obscured by time.
Price sensitive consumers probably. Looking at EV prices here, you struggle to find better bang for your buck than the cheaper Teslas.

1·8 months agoNot American so correct me if I’m wrong here, but isn’t the FCC supposed to be independent? Aren’t there any safety mechanisms in place that should kick in when its head so blatantly breaks with this principle?

Isn’t this meme actually doing POV correctly though?
The fact that it says “Paid for by the Government of Canada” will allow them to shrug it off as propaganda and go “Why would Canada care so much if this was true!?”. I like the idea, but I fear it might have an even more polarizing effect…

Technology@lemmy.world•YouTube says goodbye to decade-old video player UI, but users hate the new designEnglish
24·9 months agoSpeaking as a software dev, that’s probably not the case. They probably started completely from scratch and so the inclusion of features depends on reimplementing them on the new platform. It could be as simple as not being ready yet or maybe stats show them that so few people use the feature that they don’t find it worth reimplementing it.

World News@lemmy.world•Tesla’s Europe sales drop nearly 45% amid row over Musk’s Trump linksEnglish
71·10 months agoThe real litmus test will be Q2 and maybe Q3 numbers. My country (Norway) probably has one of the highest number of Teslas per capita in the world, and I feel like a lot of people here are just sitting around waiting for the refreshed Model Y to be fully released.
These people have no idea what constitutes a good user interface. Just because they’ve taught themselves how to use the one from 1998, does not mean that grandma of 78 would find it as intuitive. Applications like this have to accommodate so many different types of people and somehow the neckbeards seem to forget that. Can’t imagine why.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•I ordered my daughter a pizza, something I don't usually do. I got Domino's smallest size with two toppings. I got her cheese sticks and two sauces and tipped the driver 20%. $31.07.English
141·2 years agoOh yeah for sure, the situation in the US is something I dread. The fact that the cost of living in the US is near the equal to ours is mind-blowing to me when I read about their average wage level.

193·2 years agoI think it’s interesting to see the US cost of living catching up to that of my country (Norway). I’ve always looked at US prices and envied them, but now I’m just like “Whey! That’s a normal price!”. Based on what I’m reading I’m guessing wages aren’t keeping up in the same manner though…

1·2 years agoA quick Google search seems to indicate that Pfizer’s TicoVac is indeed available in the US. I would wager this is the same one that they’re using in Austria. At least it’s this one they offer in my home country (also European).

I agree this seems to be more a case of Europe having cracked the code on how to manipulate Trump. That being said, I feel like they’re walking a very fine line between dangling the keys to the kingdom in front of the baby, and handing them over.
