Cooking @lemmy.world•Question: should I warm up homemade fruit cake?
7·27 days agoIt can be enjoyed either way but warm I think will bring out the flavor a little more. Depending on the type of fruit cake I think some are wrapped up and steamed to heat through but I’m sure microwaving a slice is perfectly fine. I’d suggest just heating it a slice at a time if microwaving and maybe on paper towel to avoid sogging
Since you mention it had dollops of caramel though, heating might cause issues there since those would melt?
Personally I’d try a bit both ways and also dipped in the coffee and just see if there’s a way you prefer.
I just realized that Knights of Cydonia’s music video is about music streaming https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_sBOsh-vyI

5·2 months agoI looked at this on google maps and even better, when you zoom in on that top right corner of Indiana the east-west border there isn’t even a straight line. It bends slightly when it reaches the road a few hundred yards to the west
Once you can draw hands it’s the next inevitable phase

Canada@lemmy.ca•American spirit exports to Canada 'plummeted' 85%, says U.S. trade group
5·3 months agoI thought in BC the private stores still have to buy through the government liquor distribution branch, so if that’s not carrying it then I guess they’d sell out eventually. Maybe things have changed since I lived there though

3·5 months agoIn Prince Edward Island and surrounding areas they sell a strawberry cordial which is basically strawberry pop as far as I can tell, inspired by the Anne of Green Gables books

flashlight@lemmy.world•I see your bright LED headlight post, and I respond with matching LEDs, one sanded down a bit to diffuse the light.English
7·5 months agoIf they diffused those headlights instead of tuning them for maximum possible forward brightness they might actually be more useful but lose out to competitors on the all important lumen ratings.
A beautiful area for sure. Lovely photos 😊

6·6 months agoOur house has a mix of hollow core and solit wood doors and I really like the weight and solidity of the wood doors. They may be cost prohibitive though.

Interesting, most mushroom ketchup I’ve seen is more liquid like what they make here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnRl40c5NSs
