  • We finally had to break down and accept a smart TV as our last purchase. I didn’t want anything like that on my network. It never gets updates, it never talks to home, it never asks me to agree to anything. The way a display should be.

I do have a few IOT monitors, but they are relegated to the banishment VLAN and are unaware there is anything else on network in the house.

For those who want an dumb TV, you want to shop for a commercial signage display. It’s what a TV should be.

Projectors are also a good option if you want a huge picture with a simple display.

  • Don’t stop your opponent from making a mistake / furthering your own cause for you if it’s a net gain. It’s still a step in the right direction. It’s just clear it’s for ratings and nothing else. That man thinks of nothing but himself, this isn’t for you or I.

The beauty of science is its establishment of facts through trial and review. You cannot fake results long term. Unfortunately for us, scientific discipline is presently being ignored. I don’t think this will always be the case; I think it will be the case for a little while yet, until enough tire of it to make a difference. I think that’s finally starting to make an impact. This is an act of desperation, not kindness or progress.

  • Most people that want weed have it regardless of whether or not it’s legal. This isn’t going to do much for his numbers, if I had to guess. There’s a little benefit to research, but in the grand scheme of things, “insignificantly less illegal and still prohibited” is useless to the average citizen while the economy, the planet, our international relationships, and our ability to feed and shelter ourselves are all on fire. This is so little, so late, it’s clearly a thoughtless ploy to suck those approval ratings out from *under *the toilet and back *into *the toilet bowl.

  • That right there belongs to scrapper bob.

scrapper bob always has a rusted, beat up, 20 year old pickup, often pulling a dump trailer of the same vintage.

scrapper bob always has gates, boards, and other flat objects in his truck and trailer to make cargo walls, so scrap can be piled sky high with no proper tie downs.

scrapper bob is often seen creeping through neighborhoods looking for curbside toilets and sinks to shatter to take just the metal.

Scrapper bob does not give a fuck.

  • I try to buy local if I can, but like you say, it’s not always possible, and often comes with an attractive price tag.

The things that I feel matter are supporting local farms and food markets, as well as local businesses. I’d rather support my local dentist than a national chain. I’d rather buy my veg from the Saturday farmers market than from the grocery store, when able. Keeping the money local does play a part in maintaining the local economy. Most of our purchases wind up shipping money out of our community, so I try where I can to plug the leak.

I’m also a small business, so it’s important to show my support for others.
