  • DW is financed by taxes, but the content is not directly controlled by the politics only indirectly. The state sets the broad goals by a law, Yes, DW has its own law, But politics is restricted by law as well to influence the content. Another very important law in Germany is the press freedom and DWs reporters can always rely on that for their work. You can definitely rely more on DW articles as you can on privately owned news outlets, since they might have to do what their financier says.

Also I’m pretty sure, taking your comparison, in Russia there is no press freedom like that.

How about a “Suicide Squad” like run. The players can create all kinds of evil prisoners that get send to kill a thing that all the heros already failed to defeat. Now they can try do to what they are told to in exchange for their freedom or whatever or try to run away and and not risk their own life’s on the way.

A lot of chances to play evil or even reconsider when the little orphan begs for help.

  • I case of the dystopian stories like CP2077 or Shadowrun, the “coziness” comes from that the companies and the state dont care about the individual at all, in a way that they dont even try to control you directly anymore and that can be kind of freeing. If no one cares anymore if you squat in some abandoned building you are free to live your life there as you want.

I can imagine that even this feels freeing compared to nowadays where you are, as long as you dont fit in, you get actively and very directly antagonised by systems and people.

And i find it also terribly sad that i feel that way.

  • Yeah if i remember correctly you are right. But I can add that at 5 the gas chambers are basically gone, but right behind them, the big grey area we see, is a big memorial that has been build afterwards.

Also i believe the building on the left was some kind of workcamp where a few prisoners were “allowed” to help kill their fellow prisoners in some way.
