Utah@lemmy.world•Starter homes are scarce, so Utah set a target to build more. Here's how it's goingEnglish
3·5 months agotl;dr: it’s not working.
Also, I loved this ironic take from Utah Governor: “And to Utahns generally, Cox has urged them to think about where future generations will be able to live, asking, “Are we going to be the selfish generation?””
Talking about not being the selfish generation, yet his family owns more than 100 acres of Alfalfa farm land. Sucking water from the state and asking everyone to pray, yet imploring others not to be a selfish generation. Where are Utahns going to live if all of their water is gone, Governor???

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Tips for asking ISP to allow for using my own DNS setup for self-hosted VPN?English
1·3 years agoRight, that makes sense if you can’t adjust your router’s DNS. However, you can manually change the IP address of the DNS servers you want to use per device. I recommend trying to change the DNS on your computer or something to your pi-hole’s IP address. If you do that and can get internet access you should be good. If not then you can check the pi-hole logs to see if it’s getting any of the DNS queries. Feel free to DM me for more help.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Tips for asking ISP to allow for using my own DNS setup for self-hosted VPN?English
2·3 years agoIf you set the dns address manually for a device instead of relying on DHCP does dns work then? That should work fine no matter what your router is giving out.
