Old.reddit would not show comments anymore. It will direct you to reddit.
So I believe they might stop working at any moment.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•speaking of alternatives, what brand do people hate that actually has a decent alternative?
1·3 years agoI did use pihole to block it. Sadly, not everyone have the technical knowledge to do so.
That’s why I’d recommend apple products even though they’re not that great.

33·3 years agoThis is why I don’t buy Android.
The software isn’t optimized enough from smoothness and battery consumption perspective.
Also, the ROM that’s usually comes from the manufacturer is either spyware, bloated, or just crap. You need technical knowledge and risking bricking your device to install custom ROM.
The hardware, which is my least concern, depends on the company you buy from.
My SONY smart tv (with apps disabled) would phone home like ~200 times a minute.
Losing Apollo was the main reason.
However this whole saga unveiled other disturbing things such as how Reddit is leveraging its communities for advertising in this post: https://lemmy.world/post/837198

World News@beehaw.org•MEGATHREAD: whatever the hell is going on in Russia right nowEnglish
8·3 years agoPutin benefited from:
- Showed that the largest military group couldn’t complete a coup
- No longer need to justify the damage Wagner group done
- Shows Russian that he prefer to negotiate rather than bloodshed
- Shows international theatre that Russian troops are loyal, peaceful, and follow orders
- Identified disloyal government officials who sided with Wagner if any
And the list goes on
Wagner head got out of it and terrorisim accusations in the future
I’m still thinking that it’s not over. Moscow still on high alert.

12·3 years agoThere’s something up. Both putin and Wagners head aren’t stupid.
I feel it’s a plan to justify future actions.

1·3 years agoI also suspect they’re all bots.
I joined when users were 10k and I didn’t see any increase in engagement including comments and upvotes.
Thank you!!
I wish you all the best.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do we feel about Meta joining the Fediverse?
3·3 years agoBad. I just feel bad.
I think they would take advantage of Fediverse and destroy it.
I believe most if not all subreddits specified the period to go dark. I’d not count on thier statement even if they said for good since reddit managment can override their promise.
Do your part and start the sub here. They might engage if they see content being posted.

I love Lemmy but your question is legit. I just signed up with lemmy.world because lemmy.ml is slow/not responding.
Before making a post in lemmy.world guess what? lemmy.world isn’t responding. I know they have scheduled maintenance at 9 CET but it was 20 minutes before that.
