  • I take every opportunity to pick up new bestiaries from Legendary Games whenever they come out. They’ve done books based off of Latin Amerian monsters and myths, African monsters and myths, Asian monsters and myths, and Mediterranian monsters and myths. The books aren’t huge or anything, but they come with a good range of cultural creatures that I have little to know knowledge of, and which feel very distinct from the western fantasy canon.

It’s a small province, and most people here that found the Fediverse did so as a part of Hali-Twitter migrating to (and then abandoning of) Mastodon after Elon bought the birdsite. There was really zero movement from r/Halifax or r/NovaScotia during the Reddit app bullshit. So, we’re a pretty rarified bunch over here.

  • I worked there for five years. A lot of good, talented, passionate people there who had their ideas stepped on by Ubisoft corporate at every step of the way. The studio regularly received recognition from corporate, was trusted in taking over trainwreck projects from other studios, and with partnering with Ubisoft’s flagship studios on their mobile games.

The only reasons to shutter the studio are A) corporate ruined every original project they tried to push forward, and B) they unionized.

  • I starter SSRIs last month. With those and some support from my wife, I’ve gotten through this Christmas shockingly intact. Got my shopping done. Wrappped everything. Made breakfast for 9, and got the turkey in the oven before 10 am. Had a small period of overwhelm while everyone was opening gifts, but no meltdowns.

    Best Christmas in several years!

And now it’s not. The original developer bought it back a couple of years ago.

The bigger issue is that, like with all of the Firefox forks, it’s still using the Firefox code base and security updates, which is what’s about to go absolutely sideways. Removing the AI translator is one thing, but it sounds like they’re planning on totally fucking it all up at its core.

With no usable Firefox to use as a base, all of the forks are set to die on the vine.
