My Christian mom didn’t let us watch Harry Potter because our church said it was evil. I guess it’s not for Christians either, though I think that has changed and it’s fine now.

It shouldn’t be more expensive than takeout. You have to do everything from scratch for it to be cheap though. Flour, yeast, olive oil, canned tomatoes/spices, and a block of mozzarella to shred yourself. Wait for a good sale on the mozzarella.
It’s not super duper cheap but even dominoes is getting expensive these days, and making it yourself should be healthier too.

9·2 days agoIsn’t that strange though? Catholics trace themselves back to the disciples (though I think Roman and Orthodox both claim this), yet the new ones that split somewhat recently claim they are the real ones.
I think states will still band together a bit. New england would probably stick together. California, Oregon, and Washington. All of the south, including Florida now, would stick together too.

Oh thanks for the idea. I checked and no, it’s Florida and apparently they just wrote a law to prevent even cities from making such a law, ensuring that this lack of protection is uniform across the state.
I will just add this to the pile of reasons I am leaving the state as soon as I can.
I doubt they have a 7 day work week. That would be unusual. But they probably do have zero PTO. Sick? Come to work or don’t get paid. No vacations.
I personally have been at the same company for almost 20 years and have a bunch of banked sick time because I never got sick much. But last year I had to use 8 days because I have a toddler in daycare and I got sick a lot, for the first time in almost 20 years. I got written up. For using my banked sick time for sicknesses.

15·15 days agoI’ve noticed this on Gemini too. I didn’t want to search through the annoying internet recipe experience these days so I tried Gemini. “Find me an ice cream recipe”
“Sure! Recipe is blah blah… Also, OXO makes a great container for your ice cream! And there is a great Ice cream scoop also made by OXO!”

4·21 days agoI don’t know, if you consider it as dead tissue, it makes sense it would break down over time, and certain oils could slow that process down.
A Canadian friend told Americans do the same thing, we just put our word at the beginning.

Not sure if he was being serious though.

1211·2 months agoI actually would kind of like ai in games. Not slop visuals though. What I really would love would be in a VR game, going up to an NPC, and getting a feel for different cultures of the world I’m in through talking. Maybe you have to have a certain type of conversation to find out the plot for a side quest, or talk to a guard at a bar and work your way to find out the shift rotation as he gets drunk or something so you can infiltrate the castle.
I feel like ai could be useful like that…but getting rid of artists in favor of ai slop is just the worst way to implement this AI thing.

Eh I had accepted the major and completely unnecessary changes. In fact, I got used to them and was really enjoying it in the last season as it was finally getting better.
Then it got cancelled for no reason.

For one example, it’s likely relatively easy to determine with 95% accuracy if you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant. Would you want your job to know that before you have federal protection for your job? They might let you go before having to deal with the FMLA headache, even if you are a potential father who might also take time off and be protected. Also, though current Obamacare rules disallow preexisting conditions, that could always change. Would you want something like your search history raising your premiums? “Oh I see you likely experience migraines, that puts you in a higher risk category for X. Your premium will be higher.” Same for job applications “oh, [sees you might get migraines which are FMLA protected], we decided to go with another candidate”
