Mathematics student who upon completion of his degree was ripped from the university’s caring bosom and cast into the ghastly cold world of employment

As someone who is into this area of research, I am a lot on YouTube and its clones, but just now I wound up searching for his lectures on DDG and I notice that, at least in this field, the lectures on it on Bilibili already begin outnumbering those on YT. I might need to change platforms soon

No one here claims to be a revolutionary. We are an instance for memes and theory, we don’t even do organising like a union or a communist party, and we are certainly not a revolutionary cell.
The “stop participating” argument is the most worn card in the deck of the anti-communist debater. Participation in the system is not like seal fur or tropical woods, you cannot live your life in a way that avoids it. Capitalism’s total commodification of basic human rights means you cannot even obtain food and shelter or receive life-saving care without taking part in it. Telling someone to “stop participating in the system” amounts to promoting suicide.

6.8 billion dollars is how much it costs to keep one turret firing for two hours, or alternatively, how much it costs to pay for the EU’s entire electricity consumption for eighty-four hours
I often like to brag that I have a chauffeur who drives me around in a 16-wheel Mercedes with over 400 HPs after taking the bus

There is some popular knowledge about Soviet-era science-fiction, but although there are several books you can find in Western libraries like Obruchev’s Plutonia, Tolstoy’s Aelita, or the Strugatsky Brothers’ short stories, the discussion about Soviet science-fiction books specifically always remains in the shadows of movies like Stalker or Solaris. I think this is only partially due to a Western bias and has more to do with the fact that Soviet leadership has always emphasised the importance of cinema as a medium all the way back since Lenin.
The question is a bit misleading, since it is not about relative acceleration but relative velocity. The relative velocity of the 4-year-old man is key to determine his momentum, and hence the kinetic energy of his impact upon the bullet.
With that out of the way, we first note that adulthood starts at 18, which must be due to a significant time dilation in the reference frame of the man. We have the formula for the time dilation t’ = γt, with the Lorentzian gamma factor γ = 1/sqrt(1 - v²/c²), thus 1/γ² = 1 - v²/c², and we get v = sqrt(1 - 1/γ²)c for the velocity. If the man is four years old in one reference frame and 18 in another, then γ = 18/4 = 4.5, and after plugging in the value, it follows that v = 0.975c. Therefore, the man had an incredible speed of about 292500 m/s when he and the bullet mutually obliterated one another.

I sometimes read nothing for months and then binge a 2000-page novel over a single week

If they have something we don’t have, it’s theft; if they know something we don’t know, it’s fraud; and if they do something we don’t do, it’s sabotage
Maybe I’m not American enough to understand this, but how does this get bought? How do you store and cool this big-ass jar once you open it, how do you use it up without getting sick of the stuff, why wouldn’t you just buy it in a tube or a bottle, and why would anyone spend 20 bucks on a condiment?

Stock markets are to economics what bouncy castles are to architecture

I mean I suppose it is technically impressive but these morticians are still making a mockery of the trade

The main difference is that a chatbot is actually available to talk to you
Even if you ignore the unplastered brick wall with the trident hastily slapped on, the uncomfortably tiny glass table without a cloth, the main course being served on a saucer, and the fact that they brought the emissary of their most powerful ally water in plastic bottles and then just left it there, it really speaks to the post-Soviet rebirth of Ukraine’s cultural identity that senior diplomats on state visits are served Italian food

Lol they can’t even buy the bullets to shoot themselves in the foot
Israel is already antisemitic in the modern meaning of the word because of its ongoing genocide of Palestinian Jews - among other Palestinian ethnic communities - in Gaza. We don’t need to bring up semantics from three centuries ago to refute the conspiracy theory that Israel is defending or accepting the entire international Jewish community
They mostly do that, Bilibili ha a content feature where you can skip to different sections of the video, in that case the individual lectures
