It doesn’t need to work completely. It just sets a precedent that makes it easier to follow as a parent. If 95% of children have social media (which they do at age 13 in UK) then your hands are tied. You can ban your kid from social media but you’re putting them into that 5% of weird kids, which is unfair and probably more damaging than the social media in the first place.

If a law comes in, and 50% of kids circumvent it, then it doesn’t really matter. It changes the game. It becomes the parent’s call, and the good parents will keep their children off it.

New houses are well-insulated, but a surprising amount of people live in >100 year old houses. Those are designed to have a fireplace burning cheap wood every night, and insulating them isn’t very straightforward.

I thought it was pretty stupid calling the third one “Xbox One” but then going from “Xbox One X/S” to “Xbox Series X/S” was much more idiotic. Nobody would ever think that’s a new generation of consoles. It sounds like a rebrand. I genuinely struggle to understand how a decision like this is made.

Yep, never had a single issue swapping GPU on windows. First time on Linux, I went to the Nvidia website to download drivers. Apparently that’s the worst thing you can do (?!) and it took me hours to undo the mess.

Don’t get me wrong I still use Linux daily but there’s no need to lie. It has some sharp edges and GPU drivers is one of them.

Years ago I had a gay male friend who got drunk and decided to hook up with a girl to see what it was like. I (also drunk and being a twat) was trying to cockblock him by telling the girl he was gay.

No matter what I said, she thought I was just slinging witty banter. “haha gay”. “No you don’t understand, he is a 100% homosexual man!!!” My buddy found the interaction pretty hilarious.

I’ll have you know that I regularly do that by accident and switch from UK-US, which is the same except for a few symbols. I usually realise after the 3rd or 4th password attempt.
