Hey folks!
I’m finally getting into implementing some of the new gameplay logic that will feature in the vault quest. There’s a much bigger emphasis on evading enemies in the vault, and so their AI needs some changes to accomodate that.
In addition to vault-specific tweaks to detection chances, I’m implementing a new enemy AI state called ‘investigating’. This state only occurs in the vault, and acts as a sort of middleground between wandering and actively hunting. It usually gives the player one or two extra turns to get out of an enemy’s sight before the enemy starts chasing and attacking them more seriously.

It always seemed a bit weird for the monsters to go straight from attacking you to going about their business, especially for the dwarves, sucubi etc
