Pointing out a racial bias is not “trying to divide us racially”, it’s the opposite, making sure everyone is on board for the correct reasons (dismantling ICE), the very same reasons Goode and Pretti, both of them being white protestors btw, were protesting for when they were killed by ICE.

If it becomes a toothless liberal protest about “shooting protestors is bad” instead of being about ending the concentation camps and finding the thousands of people “lost” by ICE, then it’ll fizzle out and fail at its initial goals of systemic change like BLM and Occupy and others before it. A defensive movement that crumbles at the first sign of criticism won’t accomplish anything, there’s a legitimate need for proper radicality against fascism.

Showing people “actually more than two people died, there’s an order of magnitude more” should make them MORE motivated to take the fight to ICE, not less. If that’s what “divides” and pushes them away, then they weren’t part of the fight in the first place.

Over on Reddit there’s several people who learned about the scale of the crimes of ICE through this smuggie. To me, that alone makes it a mission accomplished. Just because you dislike something doesn’t make it a psyop or “50 cent”. Here’s one example among many others :

Many innocents were killed by the Chinese govt at Tienanmen, Russia is invading Ukraine and needs to be stopped, Israel is genociding Palestine, Stalin purged many innocents, the moon landing was real, what more do you need to read to acknowledge there’s more opinions than yours out there that aren’t psyops and bots?

I’ve been helping migrants for over 20 years over in France (Frontex and ICE are the same), I’m a living history of seeing how antifascist movements get coopted by liberals that ditch you once the first part of the fight is over, leaving you with an overall loss. Maybe it’s worth listening instead of shutting it down. My lungs are fucked from repeated tear gas exposure, I have a traumatic shoulder injury from police violence, these fragile imbeciles always manage to make it about themselves and derail things into “police bad but we’re satisfied with very minor changes and criticizing us hurts our feelings and cause us to stop supporting your cause” yeah great allies right there, we’ve learned to push back against them and force them to shut up and follow, and we’ve accomplished so much more since we learned that lesson.

Sure maybe it’s rough to the people actually on the streets that I presented it in this exaggerated satirical way but… if they’re already on the streets, this smuggie isn’t about them and they’ll know it. If anything, people already on the streets should be both happy to be finally getting a critical mass of new allies, but also wary that thousands of disappearances and dozens of murders weren’t enough to get that critical mass going, and that the rest of ICE victims still aren’t part of the mainstream conversation despite both Goode and Pretti dying in the fight for that very cause.

The racial bias is real and I stand by that statement.
