Oh that’s cool! Is that website all just crowd-sourced weather stations?

I assume, then, that that particular station is located outside?

It uses two sources according to wikipedia - National Weather Service (looks like an American thing), and Personal Weather Stations.

It’s mounted on a J pole on the side of our workshop. It has to be a certain height above the roof (which I cant remember off the top of my head) to prevent the roof affecting temp and wind readings. It’s not as accurate as a scientist in a lab coat but when you throw enough inaccurate weather stations together you get an accurate enough feel of whats going on. If you zoom out on the maps you see little pockets of heat showing where properties dont get any breeze (like ours, sadface), and drops in pressure as storms move in etc. Like a potato, I just think its neat.

Though I did just notice this on the wiki article which is disappointing:

In February 2024, Weather Underground and its parent company, The Weather Company, became controlled by Francisco Partners.

Guess I need to find a new place to send my data zzz. Open to suggestions for open source alternatives!
