And all spaceships fly in the same parallel plane
But non diegetic sound is for our benefit.
“Moontrap” tried the no-sound-in-space approach. Turns out that listening to someone breathe in a helmet for most of a movie is really boring.
It’s just the sound of micrometers hitting the ship constantly. Which would be heard inside depending on how the ship was insulated.
A unit of length makes a sound, noted. 🤭
Same way you can smack someone over the head with one too (Planck).
Typos, the foible of a good introspection.
The ship’s computer generates the sounds based on sensor readings.
Star wars : EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
spoiler
it sounds like the willhelm scream modified
My way of making this less annoying is to imagine that the space camera has a radio and we’re listening to radio waves. Probably wouldn’t be anything like the same sound but it’s very slightly more believable.
They’ve poked at that in Star Trek
Well? What series is it?
