I say this as a freedom loving citizen of the US…
Do this now, you will regret it if you don’t.
Palantir already running IT within various parts of the NHS. They are like a cancer spreading. They need to be excised!
The Ministry of Defence has also signed a £240 million contract with Palantir, the biggest ever UK defence deal.
that plug doesn’t work with us tech anyway. it’s an empty threat.
*ducks*
One example the ORG used
After former US president Donald Trump imposed sanctions on the court over its arrest warrant for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, reports emerged that the email account of chief prosecutor Karim Khan was blocked. Microsoft denied cutting off access, but the ICC later confirmed that in October 2025 it had stopped using Microsoft services altogether, switching instead to openDesk, an open source European platform.
Of course we should. And so should everybody else.
Unfortunately though, it’ll take a huge amount of time. These things always do. Anybody who thinks we can do this within even 10 years are kidding themselves.
It is, of course, still worth doing. Second best time to plant a tree is right now, and all that.
We’d best start funding open source, and exploring domestic/trusted country-of-origin alternatives ASAP.
Trump’s biggest legacy will be the global shift to open source. His second biggest legacy will be the decline the US empire.
I really wish this was true. Although I am sure he has done a huge amount to shift people to open source, I think his biggest legacy is going to be something much darker and worse than this. I just hope we are all around to discuss what his legacy is.
