The way they ride that hype train and ramp it up almost makes it seem like it’s a make or break project for Marvel Studios.

    That doesn’t say much.

What’s going on with X-Men? I thought they were going to get rebooted?

From my understanding they are using new actors. I believe this will be the last time they will play this role and im guessing it won’t end well for them. They will then use another dimension set of xmen going forward for the reset.

It would be nice to see them rebooted with new talent and with their own movies before this movie comes out. But no. Disney is so creatively bankrupt that they have to drag out all the old cast. Fantastic Four was the last Marvel movie I saw in a theater and I don’t think I will pay to see anymore. I guess we can not complain about a pretty decent 10 year run.

I mean we’re 100% getting a new cast after Secret Wars. It’s possible they even show up in this movie, but Doomsday, which sets up Secret Wars, is meant to be one last adventure before a soft reset. The next phase of Marvel films is mutants and the X-Men.

And yes, we’ve had one last adventure for X-Men more than once. X-Men 3 ended the trilogy. Days of Future past reset the timeline. Logan showed us the end. Deadpool 3 credits had a full end of mutant saga retrospective.

So is this one really the last one? Yes. (But never say never to a future cameo, but main story, yes.)
