Piece the world back together, one country at a time. Challenge your geography knowledge with this interactive puzzle game.

Hi everyone,
I’ve been working on a browser-based puzzle game that challenges your mental image of the world map:
👉 Play it here: https://true-size.com/game/puzzle
The Concept: We all know the Mercator projection distorts size (making Greenland look as big as Africa). I wanted to turn this distortion into a gameplay mechanic.
How it works:
You are given a distorted country shape (pulled from a random latitude).
Your goal is to drag it back to its correct location on the map.
As you drag, the country morphs in real-time to its true size based on the latitude.
It’s strangely satisfying to watch a massive Russia shrink into its actual size when you drag it south.
Tech Stack: Built with React and Leaflet. I used Leaflet-Geoman to handle the polygon dragging logic and some custom geometry math to calculate the projection distortion on the fly.
It’s free to play, no ads, no signup. Just a fun little project for geography nerds.
Let me know what you think!
It seems like it does not work on touchscreens?
