From the interview, Andrade said he is negotiating with WWE to get a deal to get out of a 12-month non-compete clause. He also mentioned that WWE activated the non-compete clause after his AEW appearance, before that, he was free.

Says he jumped to WWE because of Charlotte even though he was happy at AEW. Supposedly he had a friendly agreement to leave WWE again and they only got pissed when he turned back up at AEW. And insane that WWE’s non-compete is world wide.

    I guarantee you if he went anywhere else, even CMLL, that non-compete clause wouldn’t have been a thing. I ALSO guarantee you IF he went CMLL and then did a single match in AEW suddenly that non-compete clause WOULD be a thing again.

    For a company that doesn’t view AEW as a threat, they sure do view AEW as a threat.

      Absolutely correct. WWE wasn’t counting on Andrade actually having goodwill left with TK.

    On the one hand, that’s some bs by wwe. On the other hand, I am perfectly fine with not having Andrade back in AEW for however many shows before he again burns his bridges.

    The fact that he thought he was free and clear, but that poison pill was lurking, tells me he needs an agent and a lawyer to handle his contracts going forward.

    And if he already has them, he needs to fire them and get better ones.

      Absolutely. And at this point everyone above NXT levels of fame/pull who WWE approach to hire better be negotiating NCC’s the fuck out of their contract before signing because of this shit.
