FIRST ON GATEWORLD: A new Stargate series is now in pre-production for Prime Video, with veteran writer and producer Martin Gero at the helm.
It is a bit of let down that most things are being released by a few giants but that is the world for now.
It is good that they aren’t trying to be a reboot and I like that some original creates are here. What I wonder is where they will set it time/location wise. It sounds like the idea is a new cast and new stories but without a restart, so maybe a bit forward or another ring? I can’t remember all more lore, was SG Atlantis at another ring on Earth or did they use the one ring to get to Atlantis with it being elsewhere?
Unlike back in the day when most things were released on… ABC, NBC, CBS, or FOX…
Even when your TV had 300 channels, most of them were owned by the same handful of studios playing reruns. Some of those studios have consolidated, but that’s been paired with the rise of Apple, Amazon, and Netflix, so really all that’s changed is you have to pay for them individually.
Atlantis was another galaxy. However, there was a period in SG1 when Earth had two gates and the Russians were secretly operating their own program.
Atlantis was an extra chevron on the gate address and needed extra power (I think more than one ZPM.) still only one ring per planet.
Atlantis was some station on a other planet.
WE ARE SO BACK
They could go as new team trying to go after the Universe ship and team, for whatever reason or threat…
Or a reboot of the first series, parallel universe style… then again…
The purpose of SG-1, among other things, was to find a habitable planet that was suitable for an offsite.
I think the plot might revolve around setting that base, life on it, difficulties that the teams will face, and some offworld travels. Or at least, one can hope…
