This year droves of men came looking for jobs.

You know, reading this part, I was gonna say, people look for jobs because they need work, so they can pay their bill and pay off their student loans. I was gonna say that there’s a possibility that this is driven by economic misery more than sexism. But then I read the article and I got to this part:

it’s a major networking opportunity for aspiring tech workers. In-person admission costs between $649 and around $1,300.

57% of Americans has less than 1000 USD in savings. These fellas were willing to toss somewhere between 649-1300 bucks down the toilet for this.

so gross in so many ways. It’s always like this in the US (and everywhere else), where the second the going gets tough, everything has to morph to cater to the already favored, the people who are least affected. And the chauvinists always take advantage of that and push their way to the front of anything and everything, as if it’s their right.

      stupidpol

AnitaB.org, the nonprofit that runs the conference, said there was “an increase in participation of self-identifying males” at this year’s event. The nonprofit says it believes allyship from men is important and noted it cannot ban men from attending due to federal nondiscrimination protections in the US.

      Seriously though, fuck you.
