First time getting honey with sushi, the guy next to me told me sushi in Peru usually comes with honey. I’ll have to investigate, this is only my first sushi meal in Peru.
Honey is in the little pitcher on the right
It’s not bad, I ate it with two pieces of my roll.
Hmm, I’d think honey would certainly overwhelm the taste of the fish.
I typically don’t use anything on my sushi.
I’m with you, but I considered all the other sweet Japanese sauces, teriyaki, yakitori; plus, I gotta try anything once.
Wasn’t much sweeter than a yakitori sushi dressing, but my tastes do tend to lean savory.
I’m heading to a second sushi restaurant soon to compare.
Man, try a little of both. Eel sauce is sweet too and sushi rice often has sugar or honey added. Sweet + savory sounds so good!
I want to try a little honey next time I have sushi now
Eel sauce, that’s what I was thinking of!
Thanks. I did mix 'em, it was good. Couple drops of honey along the top and then a very shallow dip in soy sauce.
I’m always game for trying new flavors, and there are always new flavors out there.
Enjoy
Thanks, I’m 15 minutes walk away now. The anticipation is building!
If you’re in Peru and you like sushi, I would recommend trying a dish called tiradito, which is like a fusion of sashimi and ceviche developed by Japanese immigrants to Peru.
I am I do and I will, thank you very much!
Should I look for it in Peruvian ceviche restaurants?
Or Japanese restaurants in peru?
