This is from the era where fresh air was thought to be therapeutic.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open-air_treatment

It was a big deal in the 1918 flu pandemic:

If you live in polluted cities from all the coal burning, fresh non-polluted air is therapeutic, since it removes the source of the problem. Problem here is that the outside air is not that different from the inside one.

I keep thinking ‘surely there must be one element of this that looks remotely safe’. I’ve been staring at this image for minutes now, and I’ve yet to find it.

Have a look at cars from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and even 80’s and 90’s

Babies are like turtles in cages. You can’t see any obvious escape route, but their stupidity is only surpassed by their bullheadedness. And they have no fear.

Probably safer out there than inside with all the lead and arsenic and cadmium.

All that UV radiation with probably no protection, and a god knows how many meter drop down. Maybe a tossup?

During the blitz it didn’t matter if you were inside or outside 🤷‍♀️
