I am yet to start on HRT. But I thought I’d jokingly measure myself to see what bra size I’d be starting at. Band size didn’t come as much of a surprise, but apparently I’m starting at a C or D cup depending on which calculator i put the measurements into (doesn’t look terribly impressive on my frame mind you). I didn’t expect that. I’m overweight but far from obese. So what’s going on there?

Most of my family’s vegetarian so there’s a lot of soy products, but I always heard that was BS and if it’s not BS why did the phytoestrogens not have the decency to do something about my testosterone ravaged face? And if it does work can I supplement normal e with a god like quantity of soy products to get thick AF?

Or did i suddenly and seemingly for no reason just start producing a shit tone of aromatase enzyme and start synthesizing my own estrogen? (This, however unlikely would be amazing, but I haven’t read about it before).

Or is this just a product of age (early 40s)?

I’d like to know more about whatever is causing the boobs so I can do more of it.

Soy products don’t affect the human body. China is the biggest consumer of tofu and you don’t think of Chinese as going around with huge honkers.

So the thing about measuring for cup size.
AMAB folks tend to have well developed chest muscles, which often means a significantly larger bust measurement than the under bust, even with low body fat.
I measured D cups before starting HRT, even though I had no “man boobs” or anything. Now that I have breasts, my cup size hasn’t actually changed. Weird how that works, but that’s been my experience.

I did consider that but from what I can tell muscle only accounts for a smallish portion of it. But I’m pretty out of shape so it’s possible my chest muscles just aren’t fully engaging, but most of it seems to retain the same consistency when I flex.

I guess the question is, since we can rule out soy, does your chest look feminine? (Trying to phrase respectfully)
It’s pretty common from what I’ve seen for AMAB people to measure with a larger than expected cup size due to the taper of our wider ribcages / muscle.
