Today marks two years of this whole Fediverse experiment. It’s certainly been…interesting (to say the least).

It took a while to really find our footing here, but I think I’m mostly happy with where we’re at and headed. There’s nothing wrong with being a general purpose instance, and we were one in the early days, but having an actual vision/mission/vibe has really helped to make this place manageable and keep it (and me) sane.

I don’t really have anything special planned, so there’s not gonna be any kind of giveaway or door prize lol. Mostly just want to mark the occasion and say thanks to the users here for not making my life awful by being a bunch of trolls and asshats. Y’all are well-behaved, and I greatly appreciate that. So thanks!

If there’s anything I can do on my end to make the experience here better, just let me know.

Looking for Backup Admin(s)

Going to piggyback on this post to throw out a request for a backup admin or two. My previous backup admin has lost all interest and is pretty much only good for occasionally rebooting a stuck piece of hardware. I don’t blame them, but that does leave me as the only active admin here.

Preferably, it’d be someone who has admin experience on another instance and someone I’ve interacted with in the various admin chats (to prevent a boring interview process, etc).

The role would be application admin only (i.e. no DB access or OoB access to the hosting stack). Basically an extra set of eyes for big-picture moderation tasks, managing reports, and handling registration applications.
