🗳️ Poll time! If you had to pick just one, which #openSUSE flavor would you recommend to a new user switching from #Windows? 💻🦎 #openSUSE #Linux #UpgradetoFreedom

I say one of the immutables to give the new user time to safely learn Linux before they are able to make significant changes. If, instead they are a bit of a Windows power user, I would push them towards leap as it gives a good balance for forward and stable technologies.@[email protected] none :p I guess Linux Mint for newbie, for someone experienced Tumbleweed
@[email protected] From my experience both Slowroll and Aeon are great, BUT Aeon has a bit more issues and they are harder to repair due to it being more unique
@[email protected] Leap for stability & compatibility reasons unless it’s a poweruser who wants to get into the nitty-gritty anyway and, simultaneously, doesn’t need CUDA or ROCm. In those cases probably Tumbleweed or Slowroll.
@opensuse using Tumbleweed myself, but for a new user I’d recommend Slowroll or Kalpa. Some time ago was Leap, but for now, it has several outdated stuff (like ruby 2.5 which was eol long time ago).
@[email protected] As long as Slowroll hasn’t reached to the Stable version, I’ll recommend Leap.
