These don’t have anything on the late 70’s The Hobbit cartoon. The trolls, goblins, spiders, Gollum, and the elves we frightening. My brother always made me watch it. I’m almost 40 and I still don’t like it.
Rankin Bass Animation always looked real gnarly, but I still loved it.

From left to right : 1. Bilbo Baggins having one last craving for the ring when reunited with Frodo in Rivendell before the Fellowship takes off on its quest; 2. A lost soul in the Dead Marshes, a swampland Frodo and Sam need to go through on their way to Mordor; 3. Galadriel being offered the ring by Frodo in Lórien; 4. Grima Wormtongue, who poisons the mind of the King of Rohan on behalf of Saruman, but I can’t recall this scene in particular (and could also be mistaken).
4 is Smeagol in the flashback.
Right you are! Makes more sense. Always thought young Smeagol and Wormtongue looked similar.
Flashback Smeagol and Wormtongue do be looking similar.
I only realized recently that young Smeagol is played by Andy Serkis.
I never made the connection before.
Andy did the mocap and voice for Gollum, so being able to play young Smeagol without the CGI just kind of worked out.
I’m seeing two Hobbit-esque shots in the top left & bottom right, but I can’t immediately tell which films as it is entirely too early for me.
For the other 2, the blue looks familiar, but I can’t place either of them.

I never thought Galadriel looked creepy. The whole sequence just seems silly without the context of having read the books.
I’d say the dark Galadriel scene is the worst part of the movie trilogy.
