Edit: From the replies, the downvotes on this appear to be a fairly clean split between people who think I'm actually being sincerely racist, and the people that think I'm defending tencent. The people who think I'm being sincere apparently can read "reasons that I refuse to interrogate further" and think that's something a sincerely racist person would say. The people who think I'm defending the corporation are apparently just inventing things I haven't said whole-cloth. Whether any of these people are feeling called out for thinking tencent is especially evil in comparison to companies they're more familiar with but have never interrogated that feeling any further is something we may never know, since such people are avoiding interrogating their own feelings and will not be able to admit to them. by Excrubulent@slrpnk.net reason: Racism

Hasbro could have all of my money: 1. Sell me well written adventure books that include all the digital maps and assets. 2. Subscribe me a vtt with the power of foundry and the polish of the character builder. 3. Integrate my book purchases into the vtt so I don't have to prepare prewritten material I own. 4. That's enough there, full stop. Skip 4 and profit. But if there was a map maker like dungeon alchemist and 3d support... If there was a worldbuilder like world anvil that linked to your places and creatures and things and calendars... Just a turnkey digital DND experience, with the tools to run it how I want. That simple - infinite money. They could send the Pinkerton's to my house every week and I'd still like and subscribe. Funny how it's small operations lacking Hasbro resources who produce all the best DND content and tools. It's like Hasbro wants entrepreneurs in the community to do all the work, and then they want to extort them by changing the conditions of an unchangeable license.. Me, I'd hire and acquire, build better options, and vertically integrate the ttrpg ecosystem until you didn't even think about 3rd parties or piracy.
