Removed Comment Until you realize that in your praised Europe with the universal healthcare this is presicely how it works. If you want cash instead of benefits go become a contractor. I can't possibly see where on an antiwork sub I could even begin to explain why employment laws and health insurances exist instead of everyone just getting plain cash for their labor. If you don't know that, you're not qualified to be antiwork. by where_am_i@sh.itjust.works
reason: Rule 6, you can have an opinion, but you need to source direct claims like this please.

Removed Post The Luigi Mangione "Manifesto" Ken Klippenstien released is not authentic
reason: Rules 6 and 8: While discussion of Luigi and surrounding events are relevant to Antiwork in Mod opinion, This post makes a lot of claims that aren't supported with evidence. That includes direct accusation to journalist Ken Klippenstien. Klippenstien, like journalists of his type, work to carefully provide sources to backup accusation and allow a reader to review and decide if they agree. OP's post is presented as stated fact more or less. Post like this could be allowed to be reposted, if Title includes clarity that this is Opinion/Theory and body includes cited sources to add depth to claims and external sourcing, beyond OP.

Removed Comment So what you're saying is that we need a CEO hunter who gets a higher score? by Schadrach@lemmy.sdf.org
reason: "CEO Hunter" is right on the nose. Conversation around Luigi and what he stands for are valid, but this wouldn't be the place for your approach here.

Removed Comment This is fun. This is the moment in history when the fire department stops being an example of successful socialism. The government made a situation in which there's no water available. That's the problem with socialism: it's a monopoly without an incentive structure to continue providing services. It's great until the government fucks up the service so badly that nobody can get access to it. Then the socialized thing becomes a nothing. by intensely_human@lemm.ee
reason: As written, this violates rule 6 of the community. You can repost with citation if you have it, if not your "the government made a situation..." statement is simply parroting common non-specific, non-supported misinformation surrounding this event.

Removed Comment No disrespect intended, but I’m not going to believe that you’ve thought this through fully, until you’ve actually been there making that choice with your own business. Removed Comment I'm the type of person who doesn't see the world as a textbook problem, but rather a place full of real people with rights. Me standing there next to the trolleys, I don't know what I'd do. I've been through enough scary shit to know that about myself: that I don't know what I'd do in a situation where people are going to die in front of me. I know it's probably not what I'd say I'd do based on some kind of moral math I figure out in a breakout discussion group on a breezy spring afternoon in college. Why do I say "full of people with rights"? Because when you flip that switch in the trolley problem, you're killing someone. That's a violation of their rights and therefore it is wrong as a policy *even if the math seems to work out*. Those are real people, who are now really jobless. It's a real problem, and it was actually, truly caused by this new policy. Being willing to just dismiss that because you think the numbers work out makes someone at least a tiny bit monster. by intensely_human@lemm.ee

Please, if you're upset I'm not playing from your book, tough, Marxists aren't an authority on political perspectives. > The observation that workers are exploited is one that is completely straightforward, and is broadly understood in any pro-worker space.
