I figure losing half their users while making money on their new surveillance scheme might be more profitable. Than have 100% of their user continue to use the app as is.

I think it’s actually because of Typescript. Your ASP.net servers need to be able handle variables with emoji names.

Since the 90s every few years you have had to move. You get over it eventually. There will be stragglers that will always hold on to the old one, they will be the last to the new platform. It’s happened before and it will happen again.

After work do you say to yourself “work work work for money money money”, because those are the vibes you are giving off.

One Friday I had to go into to the office for an early meeting. Walked in the, saw my boss, my boss’ boss, HR, and an owner. I just said Fuck out loud and was immediately reassured that it is not what it looks like. They were laying people off, some of which were my friends. IT will always know before hand, we have to deactivate people’s access in a way they don’t notice until they get their meetings/calls. It does not feel good.

While you think sysadmins are your enemy, you are you own enemy and we are just trying to save you from yourself.

I have found they are the most likely to have lower computer literacy than they need to be for their job. It’s not optional, no SysAdmin should have to babysit someone.

They have context limits, eventually you hit a wall and everything goes poof. If they are now carrying context over when the cap is hits, that is even worse. Your original messages are now mutated by the LLM.

Its worse, it is basically temporary information archives that can disappear at any time, plus security BS. There is going to a 10 year gap of lost information when Discord goes away/becomes unusable. Forums last forever, I have a backup for one that nobody has used in 10 years, that information could never be lost.

For the longest time this was just a bad faith argument. It turns out everything they do is in bad faith and they are running the world with the attitude that everything I do does not matter in the long run because I will be dead, never witnessing the consequences. I don’t think older people should be allowed to vote without passing a political ‘literacy’ test.

In 2019, I had a bunch of people try sell me on the game when they did the original node auctions. It was doomed from back then. I never thought the game would release.

You actually highlighted the problem.

Words means individual words, you would need to say “list of words”

Entire groups of people go through school systems being wrong even though they are right, this is an actual problem. It destroys children’s self esteem.

If you are using a digital signal out that is being converted to analog at the receiver with decent speakers you can tell the difference between FLAC and 256kbps. I can’t tell the difference at 320kbps.

This is a neurodivergent solution. You can know everything correctly but without a properly defined problem, you go with your best assumption. People that think differently, assume different things.

Just to compliment the creator, I have molded SV and the code is beautiful. Rarely do you go into a cold base and have little to complain about.
